Balcon studio as Architects

What was the brief?

This is an apartment for an active young woman. Despite the fact that she spends little time at home, she attaches great importance to this place. We carefully selected every detail. After the first meeting, the client told me that she was dreaming of a powdery bathroom. We found “that perfect pound tile” and diluted it with embossed black slabs. She asked to make the rest of the interior in gray tones, with dark deep shades. On one of the walls, she wanted to make an accent panel.

What were the key challenges?
Since we got an “empty box”, we were limited only to wet areas and the existing wall. We decided to abandon one bathroom, which was supposed to be with the developer, and use this space for a spacious master dressing room with a washing and drying machine.

There is a bedroom next to it. There is no door between the bedroom and the dressing room, only an opening.

Also in this apartment, it turned out to make a spacious living room with a sofa and a dining table. The U-shaped kitchen is located between the hall and the bathroom.
Everyone who was in the apartment falls in love with the dressing room at first sight. It really turned out to be stylish and functional, despite its small area. Here we managed to place all the necessary shelves, drawers, bars, a washing machine, a dryer and a dressing table. At the same time, an impressive part of the dressing room is occupied by a ventilation shaft, which is hidden behind a large growth mirror.

What materials did you choose and why?

I wanted to create an interior somewhat reminiscent of a “Parisian apartment” with stucco molding and a French herringbone.

In the kitchen, instead of standard hanging cabinets, there are showcases. This allowed us to make a beautiful apron for the ceiling on both sides of the slab. The material chosen was porcelain stoneware with a beautiful soft pattern (porcelanosaxlight).

I was also pleased with the choice of paint tone. In gray Moscow, you will think a hundred times whether you need to add this color to an apartment. But our shade is perfect: soft, warm and light enough. (Little green)

In the bedroom, an alternative to the panel that the customer wanted was Italian fabric wallpaper. They not only have a beautiful print, but they are also tactilely pleasing. (wall and deco).

I associate this interior with a gothic fairy tale.
