Brdr. Krüger launches Pauline Bar Stool designed by OEO Studio

Born from the core values of a long and proud family history with a strong passion for wood and craftsmanship, Brdr. Krüger now launches the PAULINE Bar Stool by Danish design practice OEO Studio.

PAULINE BAR STOOL – a new family member by OEO Studio With its slim silhouette and distinct personality, the PAULINE Bar Stool is a sophisticated development from the Brdr. Krüger workshop, enhancing its existing range of contemporary furniture and reflecting the spirit of the mid-century Danish Modern movement.

Named after the wife of Ernst Krüger – 2nd generation of Brdr. Krüger – the PAULINE Bar Stool is the third in a series of furniture pieces designed by internationally-recognised OEO Studio.

To ensure a light and elegant expression of the bar stool, the noble oak wood is combined with a minimal steel footrest and tactile fabric or leather seat.

A simplistic design with an international feel PAULINE tells the story of more than 130 years of craftsmanship shaped by a contemporary sensibility. Created through a close collaboration between Brdr. Krüger and OEO Studio, the bar stool is endowed with an inherent international feel and a timeless aesthetic that has become synonymous with self-producing design company, Brdr. Krüger and with Copenhagen design practice, OEO Studio.

Thomas Lykke, designer and creative director, OEO Studio, says: “The simple construction and look of PAULINE has been accomplished by combining thoughtfulness with craftsmanship. The bar stool features some of the signature details found in our first two designs for Brdr. Krüger, including the characteristic bone detail observed in FERDINAND and the front legs of THEODOR, yet PAULINE maintains her own subtle personality”.

The light, simplistic design and function of the stool make it suitable for both domestic and hospitality use, from the home kitchen to restaurants and hotel lobbies where uncompromising quality is imperative. The PAULINE Bar Stool is available in three heights that fit in with a dining table, a high table or a bar.

Jonas Krüger, creative director of Brdr. Krüger, says: “It is a question of intuition to unite craft, core values and design. It was essential for us not to force the kinship with the FERDINAND and THEODOR designs, but let PAULINE grow naturally from our DNA to create a design that adds to the Brdr. Krüger design story in its own right.”

In addition to the PAULINE Bar Stool, the furniture design series by OEO Studio includes the FERDINAND Lounge Chair and the THEODOR Dining Chair.
