L&R Distributors HQ

StudioSC come Architetti

The main inspiration grew from the initial distribution diagrams of the programming.  The executive offices, executive assistants and main conference rooms were placed along part of the perimeter and had to be connected in a semi-private way while also opening up to the general office.  The point that multiple employees would converge was grouped around the very center of the space into what eventually became a modular array of micro conference rooms.  We realized that a good way of delineating space was by varying shades of the same material (oak panels & painted walls in our case) while keeping the plan as open as possible to maximize natural light and views.

To create a new corporate headquarters for L&R distributors, one of the nation’s largest distribution companies. The programming of the office called for several different distributions of space and personnel. The main concern was to not block any natural light with the eventual partitions that had to be constructed.

Creating an office with multiple distinct functions, within an industrial blank canvas was probably the biggest challenge.  The layout and schematic planning took the most time, to ensure we met the clients’ goals of separation of spaces and not blocking any natural light

We contrasted a dark stained oak paneling with a raw, light white oak for the  floating conference cubes.  The second is the reception desk, that was fabricated by RogueBuilt, a millwork shop that we’ve worked frequently with.
