Qianwan Financial Headquarters Design Submission

Inspired by the concept of water, which is associated with good fortune in Chinese culture, the international architecture practice, 10 Design’s (part of Egis Group) design proposal for the Qianwan Financial Headquarters mimics a series of cascading waterfalls which defines this new tower in the cityscape of Qianhai in Shenzhen, China.As the waterfalls cascade down into the urban plaza, the tower form pulls back to express the primary structure. Lancer Square

Lancer Square is a 13,600 sqm mixed-use development comprising four blocks ranging from 4 to 7 storeys, with fifty-one 1-4 bedroom private and affordable residential apartments, leisure, ground floor retail and cafes, a new office building and the introduction of a landscaped public courtyard. Jack Hobhouse Squire & Partners' design is a contemporary interpretation of the architectural character found within the Kensington Palace Conservation Area. The Wyatt (Block 26)

The Wyatt is located on Dundas Street East, and contributes to the commercial activation of Regent Park’s revitalized neighbourhood with grade level retail and generous landscaped sidewalks. The remaining block perimeter is all residential at grade, with individual brick townhouses entered from the street, providing a more intimate streetscape in relation to the townhouses to the south. Canary Block Condos (Block 16)

This 12-storey project is part of the Phase 2 build-out of the award-winning legacy neighbourhood known as the Canary District, which is based on a winning competition scheme to design and build the Pan/Parapan Athletes’ Village in time for the 2015 Toronto games. KPMB played a design leadership role in the competition and has since continued to provide architectural services to realize the completed vision, most recently with Block 16. The program includes a diversity of 187 residential units ranging from 450 s.f. to 1,160 s.f., 5% of which would have 3 bedrooms. International architecture practice, 10 Design, reveals the scheme for CIFI Kunming Plaza, a retail mixed use destination in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan in China. The design for this 280,000 sqm development is rooted in the city’s natural terraced landscape and its year-round spring-like weather, aiming to provide ample outdoor spaces with an open retail street. The Downtown South Raleigh Masterplan is a large-scale scheme located in North Carolina for Kane Realty Corporation. The mixed-use development comprises offices and residential areas in addition to hospitality, retail and leisure space. The proposal includes the design of a 20,000-capacity football stadium and a VR centre designed to further enhance the urban development of the south end of Downtown Raleigh. Market House

New to Iowa City’s historic Northside District, Market House is a mixed-use gathering place located at the corner of North Linn and Market streets. According to Nick Lindsley of Neumann Monson Architects, “The neighborhood, which is steeped in familiarity and a long history, has many buildings primarily clad in brick. Our strategy consisted of creating a five-story building, that blended in with these surrounding brick buildings, but also had a visual and textural identity of its own. HI-LO

While designed for a specific client and a site with opportune zoning and planning, Hi-Lo Hybrid tackles a prevailing narrow lot condition along Toronto's main streets. Despite the demand for increased density and housing options on these existing transit and mixed-use corridors, they remain largely underdeveloped, including an estimated 250km composed of existing single-family homes reinforced by low-rise residential zoning and planning. Outdated zoning and current planning policies limit the range of infill opportunities, driving homogenous stacked townhouse forms, as well as outsized mid-rise developments and retail spaces requiring long term lot assembly. Chongqing Huayu City

The Huayu Center is planned as a Commercial and Residential complex in the city’s Shapingba area. The planning and design strategy targeted on clarity of pedestrian connectivity, scale and an eclectic architectural vocabulary to create a destination within the city that would be global in its varied components and regional in its detail. RiverSky is a 517-unit condominium project overlooking the Fraser River on the Quay, a growing hub of the New Westminster waterfront.The project consists of two mirroring towers on top of a 6-story retail and parking podium, typical of the Vancouver building typology. The podium provides a “ships promenade deck” of outdoor amenity spaces partially sheltered by a rooftop structure that frames views through to the water and beyond.
