SOM completes graceful dedication to the United States Military history

20 miles outside of Washington DC, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill placed a series of rigorous steel pavilions on top of a plateau to evoke the sense of monumentally befitting the National Museum of the United States Army (NMUSA). This is the fourth school we were doing for our client, the CMR Group of Institutions. The idea of the EKYA brand of schools was established over the last few years, hence certain standards and details had to be repeated from one school to another, yet our intent was for each campus to have its site-specific identity. The school is from Kindergarten to class 12; hence we had to design for different age groups with different sensitivities.   The KG and lower primary section was treated as a school within the school, having its own separate entrance, play area etc. The site was abnormally long and narrow with the longer sides facing east and west. Located in Sarasota, Florida, the Nathan Benderson Park Finish Tower is the celebration point of the 2017 World Rowing Championships.  Designed by Fawley Bryant Architecture, the 25,745 square foot, six-story building with an accessible rooftop provides a 360-degree view of the park. Sentidos Veterinary Clinic

The project for a veterinary clinic with area of ​​approximately 190m² is located in Bento Gonçalves, in Rio Grande do Sul. To include the entire clinic program, the project was implemented in order to occupy the site up to its side borders. In this way, internal gardens were created to integrate the work rooms with the vegetation from the outside providing natural lighting and ventilation through floor ceiling wide windows.   The access to the clinic is made through a side corridor, marked by an inclined plane of exposed concrete blocks. Le bâtiment du projet Mandela est un entrepôt structuré en brique et en béton qui a été rénové dans les années 1980.  En 2014, il a de nouveau été rénové et renforcé par des structures en acier supplémentaires.
