University of Toronto Student Commons

The University of Toronto’s (U of T’s) new Student Commons is wholly-designed for students – a space students can call their own. Located at the corner of College and Huron Streets, formerly the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, and prior to that the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, the Student Commons extends across all six floors of this early 20th-century building.   The Student Commons is a first for the St. George campus, whereby students have a dedicated space to unwind, meet, study, get connected, grab a bite to eat, or access services in a singular location.   The renovation and expansion, led by Superkül, responds to student and institutional needs “in the cont... Peter George Centre for Living and Learning

McMaster University’s new Peter George Centre for Living and Learning is the first new residence on campus in 15 years. The 335,000 square-foot building combines a 500-bed residence with academic spaces and several student amenities. The Centre’s atrium houses a striking helical staircase that links the academic and common areas. DoubleSpace & Adrian Ozimek Recognizing the staircase as an intuitive wayfinding landmark, we were inspired by its form in the design of the signage. Curved signage panels wrap the building’s columns and feature directional information to facilities located on each floor. We selected playful graphics and bold colours to enliven the space and differentiate between different levels, gradua... En savoir plus

Schine Student Center

The newly transformed Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center at Syracuse University opened in early 2021. Entro collaborated with architects Ashley McGraw, Mackey Mitchell and branding consultant Jack Porter to ensure the improved space became the “living room of the campus,” a comfortable environment for students to gather, eat, study, and socialize. Halkin Mason Photography The design team prioritized the principals of universal design and student-centred design to create a space that celebrates the diverse and inclusive atmosphere of Syracuse University. The 108,000-square-foot renovation of the original 3-level building, which dates back to 1985, resulted in an open central atrium, a transformed dining experience... En savoir plus

The Ingenium Centre

The Ingenium Centre, located next to the Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa, is a new, state-of-the-art facility designed to protect and showcase Canada’s national science and technology collection of historical objects and documents from Canada’s three museums of science and innovation: the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the aforementioned Science and Technology Museum. Projet • By Karv One DesignCentres d'exposition

The project is located on the 51st floor of the World Trade Tower in Wenzhou City. Karv One Design focused on creating the Observation Decks to strengthen the spatial relationship between the demonstration area and the project site, while the visitors can overlook the city scenery from the skyline at the same time. Karv One Design has taken inspiration from the Beidou Galaxy and the waves of Tanghe River to express the design's exploration in the urban historical context. By creating design details such as natural light and shadow, materials, landscape scenes, immersive space experience and emotional guidance of multiple scenarios, the modern sales center is like a watchtower full of the city’s cultural heritage.  ... NYU Student Health Center

With hundreds of college kids clamoring through each day, it’s no wonder the center was starting to look a little frayed. An uplift was in order. Working closely with facility directors, we brought the center’s and NYU’s branded color scheme to the entire space. En savoir plus

Nassau Community College

Bright, bold canopy signs grab the visitor’s attention and draw them in to this 70,000 sf facility of labs, classrooms, offices, and suites. Monument signs sporting the college colors create striking visual cues across the landscape. Inside, the wall graphics are tailored to each floor—general classrooms and library, chemistry, nursing.   Colors for room ID and statutory signs complement the wall and floor colors of the corridors. Our program set a precedent, and when several administrative offices merged to form the Student Services Center, we were invited back to do the new space! En savoir plus

RBC Convention Centre

Winnipeg's RBC Convention Centre is a premier downtown venue. To accommodate an increasing number of events and a growing international clientele, the centre nearly doubled its size with an expansion by Number 10 and L+M Architects, adding an entirely new building. Entro designed the interior signage and wayfinding program for the now 260,000 square foot site, an updated parking garage signage program, and exterior ID signage for RBC, the building’s sponsor.   As the new building is located across the street from the existing centre, the two are linked by a 15 foot above-ground bridge. However the architectural form, look and feel and finishes of each are vastly different from one another. The existing building is a bru... En savoir plus

Planned Parenthood of New York City

We were excited to create the signage and graphics for Planned Parenthood’s first facility in Queens, NY. Teamed with Stephen Yablon Architects, our collaboration ensured that the graphics and interior architecture together inspired a feeling of safety, reassurance, and calm. Our welcome wall, murals, and donor recognition speak the same visual language throughout.   Various sized disks integrate words from PPNYC’s mission statement in eleven languages—there are over 140 languages spoken in Queens! This new 14,000 sf full-service state-of-the-art reproductive health and education center has become a model for future centers around the country. En savoir plus

Strategically located at the terminus of the High Line in New York’s Meatpacking District, the museum contains over 21,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, photos, film and new media.   Entro was engaged to develop the identity signage, wayfinding, donor recognition program, and digital display system for nine floors and 220,000 square feet of public, administration, and exhibit space.   The WMAA brand is extended throughout the spaces in subtle yet identifiable ways, with enough restraint to keep the museum environment simple, elegant, and timeless. The Brearley School

Realizing a 25-Year Dream: 610 + 590 = One Brearley! The Vision for The Brearley School was to imagine a new home that would consolidate the ‘whole’ school and all divisions into a campus of buildings in close proximity to each other. After 85 years in its purpose-built premises at 610 East 83rd St., the school had doubled the student body and outgrown its original building. After a study of the options, it was ultimately decided that the new 85,000 sf building a block away from the original building, would be a gateway to the Brearley School, and accommodate the Lower School and those spaces that benefit from a larger floor plate and the ability to accommodate technical space.   The new 12-storey expansion is conceived... Goh Ballet Bayview Village

In the initial conversations with Chan Han Goh, the director of Goh Ballet Academy, she identifies that ‘dance is not about luxury, it is about the work, and what is done in the studio,’ and that is why the architecture of the Goh Ballet Academy is stripped back and minimal, creating a focus on the technical aspects of dance. The former principal dancer of the National Ballet of Canada had begun her training in her parent’s basement and wanted her studio to reflect the modest necessities for training in ballet.Chan Han Goh wanted the studios to be ‘light and airy,’ where they could account for all movements, such as lifting of the human body. To account for that, the five studio spaces have a floor to ceiling height of five meters, and are... En savoir plus
