The Journey of Senses

The main inspiration for the pavilion design comes from Metaform Architects' desire to convey a true reflection of Luxembourg’s past, present, and future, while also presenting the values of the country: small but ambitious, intriguing yet reassuring, and above all generous and open. What better inspiration than a Möbius strip, a loop, a single surface twisted with neither beginning nor end, symbolizing infinity and, most of all, the circular economy and diversity united as one. Steve Troes Fotodesign One of the biggest challenges was to find a good flow for visitors to pass through quickly. A setback was thus created between the main walking street and the pavilion: the space and distance offer a clear perception of the wh... En savoir plus

Dubai Expo Korea Pavilion

VisionThe desert sun rises, and rays from it is reflected from many dew droplets on a desert flower. The flickers of lights remind me of card stunts of spectators of soccer stadium, It also takes me to the sing along rock concert. The cohesive and spontaneous energy of Koreanness is very well expressed in these moments. A vision of a giant stadium like structure with bright flickering lights comes to my mind. Kim Changmook Spincube FaçadeThe Mobility district pavilion, including Korea aspires to represent and exhibit the idea of mobility in contemporary and future terms. The spinning cubes arising from the vision become expression of Korean mobility and energy of its people. There are 1597 of them representing abstract patterns... En savoir plus

Spanish Pavilion at The Universal Expo Dubai 2020

It is easy to design an Exhibition Pavilion and for it to turn into a Shopping Center on the outskirts of a large city. In other words, a project without character and subject to the interests of pure commerce. From this point of view, the difficulty of a project like this consists in not losing the focus that instead of pure representation and above de inevitable spectacle it is possible to offer the visitors a friendly and intelligent place in which to take refuge with dignity. Luis Asín Given the overwhelming speed that contemporary society bears, a set of spaces offering place for slowness is not negligible and instead of the rush to assimilate everything we find, it is good that the Spanish Pavilion offers peace, being th... UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

Serving as the host country’s pavilion and the anchor for Expo 2020 in the Opportunity District, the UAE Pavilion reveals an immersive experience for guests to discover the UAE’s history and future. The design is inspired by the majestic falcon, the national bird of the United Arab Emirates. Continuing to pay homage to the UAE’s heritage, the Calatrava team drew inspiration from the traditional Bedouin tent, incorporating such elements into the building’s elevation in honor and recognition of life in the desert and the local sustainable solutions associated with it. The sloped geometry of the roof and the floating wings create visual and outward connections that welcome visitors approaching the UAE Pavilion from all... En savoir plus

LAVA’s design of the German Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai is an ensemble of suspended cubes, a forest of steel poles, covered by a floating roof.
