Munich Re

The revitalization of the Munich Re office was aimed at fostering greater collaboration and creativity. The environmental graphics program plays a key role in supporting this strategy. Design is inspired by the parks and gardens popular to Munich, Germany, where the company headquarters are located.   Expressed through a photo collage that portrays a forest-like scene as if looking skyward, thin white bands are positioned purposefully within the space to lighten the overall density of the graphics.   The environment resembles the gardens, creating a relaxed, social atmosphere protected by a leafy canopy with dappled light peeking through. Nassau Community College

Bright, bold canopy signs grab the visitor’s attention and draw them in to this 70,000 sf facility of labs, classrooms, offices, and suites. Monument signs sporting the college colors create striking visual cues across the landscape. Inside, the wall graphics are tailored to each floor—general classrooms and library, chemistry, nursing.   Colors for room ID and statutory signs complement the wall and floor colors of the corridors. Our program set a precedent, and when several administrative offices merged to form the Student Services Center, we were invited back to do the new space! En savoir plus

University of Waterloo Pharmacy Building

The University of Waterloo Pharmacy Building houses the pharmacy school, a medical centre, and is a hub of activity for the university and the community of Kitchener.   Entro's exterior façade mosaic, built within the glass and aluminum structure of the façade, consists of flower patterns inspired by 17th-century botanical drawings. These flower patterns interwoven within the glass create a rhythm and mood that is not only beautiful, but reflective of the organic and holistic approach of the school.   Toronto Star architecture critic Christopher Hume named it one of Southern Ontario’s most influential buildings. A bright anchor among old warehouses, the building played a major role in reviving... En savoir plus

CampusOne Student Residence

Responding to an increasingly competitive education market, higher housing demands from students and a lack of residences near University of Toronto (U of T), Knightstone Capital Management created CampusOne, a new 890-bed student residence. Located across the street from U of T’s main campus and designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects, this residence offers five star amenities, furnished suites, a cafeteria accessible to all students, and on-site security. Planned Parenthood of New York City

We were excited to create the signage and graphics for Planned Parenthood’s first facility in Queens, NY. Teamed with Stephen Yablon Architects, our collaboration ensured that the graphics and interior architecture together inspired a feeling of safety, reassurance, and calm. Our welcome wall, murals, and donor recognition speak the same visual language throughout.   Various sized disks integrate words from PPNYC’s mission statement in eleven languages—there are over 140 languages spoken in Queens! This new 14,000 sf full-service state-of-the-art reproductive health and education center has become a model for future centers around the country. En savoir plus

Brennan Center for Justice

“Serious but exciting,” was the direction given at the outset of our work for the Brennan Center for Justice, a nonpartisan law and policy institute. So we created arresting graphics that would serve both visitors and staff, in a space that would double as a dramatic background for media events. Brennan Center already had a strong brand identity in their colors and logotype, so we extended that into the space.   Combining flat with dimensional graphics, we employed exciting typographic forms in a completely contemporary manner to display inspiring quotes from the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and Justice Brennan. Gerald Hatch Centre

Designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects, the Hatch Centre is a new hub for the university’s 5,000 undergraduate engineering students. It provides spaces for users to collaborate, gain hands-on experience and access support services.   The simple, cost-effective environmental graphics program designed for McMaster’s Gerald Hatch Centre for Engineering and Experiential Learning achieves more than identification and orientation: it’s a great example of how through thoughtful design, signage can reflect the vision, essence and core functions of a space.   In the creation of directory graphics, Entro developed a nomenclature that identifies the building’s four floors by function. Active verbs &n... En savoir plus

Arctic College’s Nunatta Campus in Iqaluit recently celebrated a new expansion, now serving as a cultural and social hub for learners and the local community. The College is unique in offering life-long learning opportunities that empower learners while protecting and promoting Inuit language and culture. Entro was excited for the opportunity to develop the signage and environmental graphics for this building, which was designed by Teeple Architects and Cibinel Architecture.   Architecturally inspired by the powerful landscape, the building also responds to the technical, cultural, and social needs of its users. A balance was struck between the need for insulation from the cold and the desire for natural light. The inte... En savoir plus
