Al Naseej Factory: A woven architecture that celebrates local craftspeople

Located in Bani Jamrah, Bahrain, the Al Naseej Factory by Leopold Banchini is a textile weaving facility and social space for the region’s local craftspeople. The shaded structure, complete with greenery, a water network, and seating areas, brings a naturally refreshing environment to the inhabitants of the village.  Dylan Perrenoud The project is part of a broader effort by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities aimed at redefining and reinvigorating traditional crafts and industries across Bahrain. Anne Holtrop uses the ground to cast unique imprints into Bahrain art depot

The concrete facade elements were cast by Studio Anne Holtrop using the ground next to the building. This way each element has a unique imprint from the relief of the sand. The resulting concrete has a surprising rock-like appearance. Anne Holtrop Horizontal slabs articulate the different floors. The four storey building has a floor plan with two equally sized rooms divided by a core. With the slim elongated volume the facade became the main spatial element. Hilton Garden Inn

dwp were appointed to complete the full interior design and consultancy services for the Hilton Garden Inn, five-star hotel located in the heart of a shopping and entertainment district in Bahrain. This 34 storeys high luxury hotel caters for 210 individual keys comprising of studios, 1-bed, 2-bed and 3-bed apartments. The residence also features an all day dining facility, ballroom, club lounge, specialty restaurant, business suites,  offices, pool deck, gym and spa. All areas designed by dwp reflect the emergence of a unique urban hotel, anchored between a vibrant shopping mall and the bay leading out to the sea.
