Singita Ebony is the first lodge in the Singita stable.

Inspired by Colonial Africa, the design focuses on using the natural contours of the sloping site, organic free form and contrasting man made orthogonal forms.

The required steep pitch of the thatch roofs informed the design process and resulted in high, sculptural roof volumes.

The main lodge building and its dramatic dining deck are designed around two ancient Jackalsbessie trees and the shade of the trees forms a valuable shade element in the design.
