Reception building Petten
The new reception building for the Institute for Energy in Petten designed for JRC consists of a combination of three features: a reception hall, a cafeteria and an auditorium with an associated meeting space. The three functions are combined in a compact elliptical concrete volume which opens to the surrounding dune landscape through large windows. The interior is formed by a closed inner box containing the auditorium, the kitchen and the office functions for the reception. All large living areas such as the restaurant and reception are folded around here. The adjacent gatehouse is equipped with solar panels and provides the project of sustainable energy.
