praça de lisboa l public space architecture

the praça lisboa in porto (portugal) is an unused open space since years. the "no rules, great spot." organization called earlier this year for international project submissions on which we answered with our concept "shift". we considered the environmental context with university, church, office- and private residence buildings and built a platform to exchange between young + old, poor + rich, man + women. the yearlong empty space situation and the current movement to achieve a result are respected in our concept by a "shift" of the base monument. accessible from any side, filled with the natural elements water and wood, we aim for a maritime atmosphere perfectly fitting into the historical harbor metropole porto. its time for the "shift" - our submission reflects the essential milestone.
