This House is inside an old village more than 30 years old, located on the suburb of Bangkok. The village’s layout is interesting as there is a swimming pool surrounded by large trees of central garden. It’s rare in new development projects nowadays.
This House has been renovated from the old structure that has been abandoned more than 10 years. It is a house with 2-story and mezzanine. The original space on the 1st floor is designed for 1 parking, maid room, bathroom, living room and backyard. The 2nd floor plan was dining room and kitchen. And the 3rd floor, there were 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
The designer changed all functions and appearance of the house. The mechanical system was completely reinstalled. On the 1st floor, new interior layout and space is expanded to be a small car park. The maid’s room is replaced by a kitchen. Living room and Dining room are combined into one lager area. The backyard is changed to be terrace with gym room. Both of these parts provided the village’s central garden view. The fence is designed to be vertical garden for privacy and cut-off the unattractive views, leftover the greenery scene.
Mezzanine area is designed as working and reading room with tree view. On the 3rd floor, the designer added 1 more bedroom and Buddha room into the limitation space. Each bedroom is small size but fit for comfortable sleeping. Related to the sizing, each bedroom had the maximum window size to gain view of trees surrounded.
The most area in the middle of the house is dark and dim. This is one disadvantage of the townhouse that the designer tried to solve by using transparent skylight for brighten up and bring in natural light.
