M16 house is located among other houses in a gated community in the city of Carpina. In order to meet the needs of customers, the project provides a weekend home to welcome, gather and be a reason for family gatherings. As an immediate response to the corner lot of 30m x 15m, the two floors of regulatory layout follow a pragmatic division in the layout of the rooms with a continuous design. Then there is the multiplication of perceptions and the appropriation of a site through the sequence of open spaces integrated into the natural landscape of the Pernambuco forest area, which reveals itself as a true scenario in the face of the biggest test of the house. Having taken as a starting point a sequence of open spaces, attributed a better ambience in line with the predominantly southern solar orientation. The pedestrian access to the house leads through a void, which receives a suspended staircase and establishes the connection between the social and service areas on the ground floor, and with the intimate area concentrated on the suspended prismatic volume. A large terrace on the corner appears as a project premise, welcoming the protagonist and longest-lasting space of the family. The shade designated by an expressive metallic pergola in galvanized steel sheets and painted in yellow color, indicates where three generations will be able to live and share their experiences. The few walls on the ground floor and the rigor in the first floor plan allow for closings that, in a continuous and sequential manner, talk to each other until the yellow horizontal plane of the imposing pergolas. In these, the essence of the house is made, harmonizing with the blue of the hydraulic tiles and clashing with the whole. This set of yellow and blue elements, present on the terrace and at the top of the building, joins the strong geometric rigor of straight lines and compose pure volumes that seek to give identity to the work. Another notorious element in the composition of the house is the set of glass blocks arranged in different arrangements, solving questions of privacy and control in the passage of light contained through the translucent surface of the material. The structural system adopted was reinforced concrete, traditional and common in the region. Modular coordination was strictly followed and guided the architectural concept following a structural reasoning, whose structure expresses a frank and direct relationship with the formal built party. Casa M16 transmits a welcoming feeling to those who live in it. Be it for the minimal affective decoration or for the regional touch of a genuinely simple and honest architectural language.
