Auchenflower House

Alexandra Buchanan Architecture en tant que Architectes.

Our Auchenflower House is perched at the front of a narrow, hilly block in Brisbane’s Inner West suburbs. This tiny old cottage is soon to be transformed into a contemporary beauty fit for large family entertaining.

The design – which is currently on site reveals how a large volume of space, light and expansive views can be achieved on what could be considered a challenging site. created a series of cascading levels that follow the terrain to the top of the block, enabling double-height breezy spaces, loads of natural light and dynamic views both to and from the house.

By taking advantage of the block’s steepness, the city views become a spectacular feature throughout. Making the most of the existing footprint, the floorplan accommodates five bedrooms with large living and entertaining spaces spilling out to a sheltered garden at the rear.
