Gravita is a group of contemporary and utilitarian lighting experiences on different scales that explore how the light gets through inert masses in tension and movement, exploring the natural phenomenon of gravity.
Gravita is a large format luminous compositional object that can modify or define a space as an accent or as the main axis of composition in the interior, exterior, or public spaces. The development of the piece integrates at the base an artisan work of Calcehtok stone original from Yucatan, finished naturally raw by hand.
The structure is made up of a system of tubular steel tensioning cables with assembly joints and screws. Gravita is a piece that can be seen at 360°, it has an arm and a rotating light ring, making it a flexible sensorial piece that can be adapted to
different atmospheres.
The piece was presented at Design Week Mexico, Inédito 2021, and awarded with the honorable mention for user experience.
